LIO is an ambient alt-pop format fronted by Leonie Sloots. The Sheffield-based songwriter has taken the stage supporting acts such as Stevie Parker, Slow Club and While She Sleeps. In May 2018 LIO launched as a full band, quickly gathering momentum on the Sheffield music scene and beyond through multiple festival appearances (Outlines, Tramlines, Y Not Festival) radio play (Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing Sheffield, Sheffield Live, Jelli Records Music Show) and their O2 Academy Sheffield debut supporting King No-One. “Ranging from ambient soundscapes to mellow indie and everything in between, their set was a very welcome breather. One thing that cannot go understated is LIO’s voice. She manages to belt her heart out while having it blend perfectly with the moody ambience of the music.
