Mica Millar is a British soul singer, songwriter and producer whose music blends timeless elements of soul, gospel and jazz with a modern sensibility. Millar’s breakthrough came with the release of her debut album Heaven Knows in 2022 on her own label, Golden Hour Music. The record was mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios and mixed by multi-platinum engineer Brian Malouf—known for his work on Michael Jackson’s Bad and collaborations with Stevie Wonder. Her grandfather was a comedian and saxophonist who toured with Dusty Springfield, and her father, Kim Turner, a session drummer who toured with Manchester soul group Sweet Sensation. Growing up, Mica was immersed in a creative environment from an early age. Surrounded by music at home, she absorbed influences from classic Motown and gospel to modern R&B and jazz. She cites Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Etta James and The Supremes among her inspirations. Before releasing her debut, Millar spent several years developing as a songwriter.
