About Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington and over the last decade has become the indie rock standard and one of the few bands capable of treading the narrow path where massive popularity is possible without sacrificing their longtime fans. The band released their first full-length album, This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, on the Up label in 1996. With the release of their second album, The Lonesome Crowded West in 1997, the band’s status reached new heights with a legion of fans and critical acclaim. In 2000, Modest Mouse was signed to Epic Records and released their third album, The Moon & Antarctica. In 2004 came the release of their breakthrough album, Good News For People Who Love Bad News, which included the hit “Float On,” has sold over 1.5 million copies and earned the band two Grammy nominations The most recent Modest Mouse album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, was released on March 20, 2007 and immediately entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #1. On August 4th, 2009 Modest Mouse released a special EP, No One’s First, And You’re Next. This new EP contains eight songs, six of which were released as limited edition 7” vinyl singles. Also included on the EP is ‘King Rat’ which was a limited promo-only 7” single free with the purchase of We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank in 2007 and ‘I’ve Got It All (Most)’ which was the b-side to the ‘Float On’ single in 2004 and is currently out of print. No One’s First, And You’re Next debuted at #15 on the Billboard Top 200 and was the #2 Digital Album. Simultaneous to the EP release, Modest Mouse released the highly anticipated Heath Ledger directed video for ‘King Rat,” a track also included on the No One’s First, And You’re Next EP.

Amazing band and very glad yo get to see them. Forest Hills Stadium has only gotten better This was the most talkative crowd I’ve ever been around. During cat power a guy with all access pass sat down in front of us and started talking. I thought it might get better as the night went on. But no. A bunch of boojie folks looking for their Gen X merit badge talking up a storm and getting their reels. Insane.

Absolutely breath-taking performance. Isaac Brock has an amazing stage presence. He couldn't get his electric guitar working so he played a ton of banjo songs, which are my FAVE. Feel bad he couldn't play the ones he wanted but glad I got to hear all my old favorites. King Rat had to be my favorite, cant beat that energy live!!! but Custom Concerns was a close second. All in all great show!

I have been trying to see this band for over a decade. I have heard mixed reviews. I was a little nervous at first. I saw them Thursday, August 14, 2025 in Madison, Wisconsin. They were amazing. Everything I expected and more! I couldn’t have asked for a better performance. Will definitely try to see them again if they come close to where I live.

The set list for this was pretty incredible. Night on the Sun was fucking tremendous. They rocked every song and it seemed like they legit enjoyed being there. I was hammered and had an excellent time. Cowboy Dan or Trailer Trash would have actually shattered my brain. Didn’t take as long of an intermission as they did in Montclair on 10/10/2018.

Modest Mouse was the main reason I went to see Weezer, and they did not disappoint. Isaac Brock is incredible. His songwriting is heartfelt and engaging, his voice gritty and passionate, his guitar mastery incredible, and his stage energy contagious. While I miss seeing them play smaller venues ("back in the day" and all), they did not disappoint.

Way better setlist than the previous night at the Morris in S Bend. So stoked that they played Trailer Trash. Also thankful for the inattentive usher that “allowed” me to have GA seat after they were sold out. Hope they come back here again. They’ve been my favorite for going on 20 yrs.

Termination Dust and Modest Mouse were great. We were glad to be introduced to Termination Dust. Modest Mouse played a good mix of songs from their long history. The sound at the venue was pretty bad. While the awning above the pavilion protects from Sun and rain, I think it really impacts the sound quality.

My first show at Surly. All of the staff were super friendly. For a pop up stage, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and lights. Cat Powerwaa good. Modest Mouse was super professional. Isaac is as in a good mood. Pixies were meh. Mushy sound and no energy. Hats off to Surly tho!

Ralston Arena on a Wednesday night wasn’t the ideal setting for this, and the openers were just mediocre. You couldn’t hear the vocals barely at all over the rest of the band, and when Modest Mouse came on after 40+ min of mic checking, there was still feedback. However, they played a great show.

The band was awesome, as always, but there was a little something off about the acoustics of the place. General consensus was GA on the floor didn’t sound nearly as good as it did from the seats in the back. Like I said though, band was amazing, and played a good, lengthy set.
