Bursting with the band’s unmistakable melodic flair and emotional punch, “Heaven” delivers bittersweet lyrics with an enormously danceable sound, marking an exciting new creative chapter for one of Australia’s most beloved and enduring bands. “Make the sun shine brighter like Formed in 1987 as teenagers, The Mavis’s began as a four-piece post-punk rock band named after a cat. They quickly built a reputation for creativity, heartfelt songwriting, sibling harmonies and unforgettable live shows. Their first gig was in a church hall with just four songs — the start of a journey that would cement their status - first as cult favourites and then widely recognised as Australian music treasures. Rising to national prominence in the late '90s, The Mavis’s earned critical acclaim and multiple ARIA Award nominations, including Single of the Year and Song of the Year for their 1998 hit “Cry". The brother-and-sister duo Matt Thomas and Beki (Colada) Thomas share a rare musical connection, often finishing each other's sentences and communicating in their own language.
