MARA refers to different artists. 1) Irish Pop Rock Duo Classy Irish brother and sister duo take us from the fragile creation of music in on their bebut album "Spaceship Earth, Landing". We go from 'Primordial Gender-bender', to the shining optimism of 'Rebirth', on a musically diverse, lyrically fertile and melodically varied passage, that questions life, love and all. Available through most digital outlets and CONFIDENTIAL RECORDS: www.confidentialrecords.co.uk 2) English Electronic Dance Band Taken from http://www.ivibes.nu/index.php?show=Artist&id=36 Mara, a name which has been at the top of the progressive lists for the past few years with massive productions and remixes from both sides of the Atlantic consist of Sarah Whittaker-Gilbey, and Barry Gilbey, the duo who combine with the production and vocal talents which have been praised by all the progressive jocks; from Sasha, to Digweed to Cass and Slide to Danny Tenaglia. Since their "Learn to Love" was produced in 1997 and pressed onto limited white labels, their success has been pronounced by their releases which followed; "One" "Song for Zoe" and "Fall From Grace" which caused a big big stir in 2000-2001. Formed to simply “make the music we were excited by”, Mara quickly achieved just that, and then some. Heavy support on early singles such as “Falling” and “Orinoco” coming from Digweed, Taylor and Jimmy Van Malleghem meant the duo had got off to a perfect start, with the latter track even becoming a Twilo and Cream anthem at the hands of Sasha. Since then, Mara have taken their sound to new levels. The awesome “Desanitize” on Acetate Ltd. became a nu-school breakbeat anthem while remixes for Dino Lenny, Space Lovers, Freefall, Chakra and Mark Shimmon amongst others created more than a buzz in the press and on dancefloors worldwide. Original productions such as “One” “Coming Down” and “Fall from Grace” appeared on countless mix cds (including several global underground cd’s) and radio shows while, yet again doing damage in the all important clubs. 3)Turkish Rock Band 4)Singer on the pics 5) Sanel Marić-Mara, singer, songwriter and musician from Bosnia and Herzegovina. http://www.myspace.com/maramostar Following text is from his myspace page: VASDUH VASDUH In Bosnian language, the two titles of this album “Vas duh”, or “Vazduh” linguistically look very similar, however the meanings are different. “Vas duh” means “the entire spirit”, while “Vazduh” means “air”. By combining these two titles the letter “S” has been placed in its opposite position. The idea of combining ethno with blues came up already in 2000. It started with text of a folk lullaby “Nini sine”, and its first version was performed at the concert “Funkcija zivota u e-molu”, which was first BiH Internet Web Casting. In 2005 my son Ishak, then six months old baby, recorded vocal for that song. In 2002, from the Herzegovina Archive records, I selected two texts for music making - „Djul mirise“ author Avdo Hasanbegov Karabegovic i „Vas svijet“ author Safet-beg Basagic, 1870 – 1934. „Djul mirise“ is a song which, of all songs in the album, had the biggest effected on me and my closest friends. This is because it connected us with the period when the text was written, plus it gave a special „smell and taste“ to the entire album. In 2005, the Federal Ministry of Education provided the first and the only financial support, which to me as a B&H artist was like celebrating New Years' Eve. The fact that my work in Bosnia and Herzegovina - the country with so many problems, has been recognized, accepted and supported by a federal institution is rather incredible, and I use this opportunity to sincerely thank for the support. Of course, these funds were not sufficient to complete the album, so, it was necessary to use private resources for the finalisation. As per wish of my friends and wife, music was created for poems written by three Herzegovina famous poets: „Ne vjeruj“ and „Muza“, Aleksa --anti--; „Zavodnik“, Antun Branko Simic; „Brotnjice“, Mak Dizdar, plus two sevdalinka songs „Evo srcu mom radosti“ – with working title „Spenglis“, and „Eno zora svanut mora“ – with working title „Polje“. In order to have as best as possible „Spenglis“, already known sevdalinka singer Damir Imamovic jointed me in interpreting it. The album has one instrumental „Rijeka“, which is a sort of „resting area“ in the album due to its beauty and simplicity.
