Phil Vassar (born May 28, 1964 in Lynchburg, Virginia) is an American country music artist, most notable for his songwriting and use of a piano as his most prominent backing instrument. Prior to signing with Arista Records in 2000, Vassar's songwriting talent was no stranger to the airwaves, penning number-one hits for some of the most popular country artists of the late 1990s: Jo Dee Messina ("Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright"), Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money") and Tim McGraw ("My Next Thirty Years" and "For A Little While"). He has also written songs for Collin Raye ("Little Red Rodeo") and Blackhawk ("Postmarked Birmingham"). Vassar also co-owns a piano bar outside Nashville, Tennessee, where he performed his own material prior to signing a record deal.

Phil Vassar and his band never disappoint. The show was full of energy. And at points raw emotions during the ballads. The mix of up beat songs with Phil Vassar’s true talent on the piano made for a wonderful evening. His band is a wonder group of very talented musicians that act great accompaniment to Phil’s artistry.

Phil put on an amazing show and was the nicest guy when we met him for the Mix and Mingle pre show! We'll be heading back to the Clyde in February 2023 to see Gary Allan without a doubt!
The Clyde Theatre Fort Wayne, INAWESOME!!! He looked and sounded great! I loved all the stories he shared about the different songs he wrote and his humor about surviving the heart attacks. What an incredibly talented man. I also appreciated how he stayed and shook hands and took pictures with all the fans.
The Clarion at Brazosport College Lake Jackson Farms, TXWonderful show as always with Phil! Everything appeared to run smoothly and the sound system sounded better than I expected. Appreciated that the set up allowed for standing in front of the stage instead of lawn chairs scattered around as in the case of most shows like this.
