About Pablo Milanés
Pablo Milanés Arias (1943 - ), compositor, cantante, guitarrista y cantautor cubano.
Siendo un nino, antes del triunfo de la revolucion, cantaba Spirituals como solista en iglesias cristianas, destacandose como solista.
Está considerado como uno de los fundadores de la Nueva Trova Cubana, junto con Silvio Rodríguez, Augusto Blanca y Noel Nicola. Luego pertencio al Grupo de experimentacion sonora del ICAIC, dirigidos por el guitarrista cubano Leo Brower.
De entre sus muchas canciones, son especialmente famosas: Yolanda, homenaje, Yo pisare las calles nuevamente, Yo me quedo, Amo a esta isla y El breve espacio en que no estás y Cuánto gané, cuánto perdí. Ha sido un critico importante de la revolucion, siendo un revolucionario declarado.
Recientemente (2006) gana su unico Grammy por un trabajo conjunto con Andy Montanez.. AM PM, LINEAS PARALELAS, sorprendiendo este premio, por su honestidad. tambien son famosos sus trabajos acompanado de amigos, Querido Pablo en los 80s y Pablo Querido recientemente.
