About Rival Sons
Since their emergence in 2009, Rival Sons have quietly reignited and recharged rock ‘n’ roll with towering vocals, uncompromising riffs, and thunderous grooves. Following the independent release of their full-length debut Before The Fire, they were handpicked to perform alongside everyone from AC/DC to Black Sabbath. Working with longtime producer Dave Cobb, the band delivered a series of critically acclaimed albums—Pressure & Time [2011], Head Down [2012], Great Western Valkyrie [2014], and Hollow Bones [2016]—as they headlined sold out shows on multiple continents. 2019’s FERAL ROOTS broke new ground for the band. “Do Your Worst” shot to #1 on Rock Radio as their first chart-topper at the format. It also scored 40 million-plus streams and counting. They delivered an electrifying performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden and earned acclaim from Billboard, Rolling Stone, and many more. FERAL ROOTS also gathered a 2020 GRAMMY Award nomination for “Best Rock Album,” while the single “Too Bad” notched a nomination for “Best Rock Performance.” 2021 saw Rival Sons present their own label Sacred Tongue Recordings distributed by Thirty Tigers. Through and through, they embody everything a modern rock band should be and so much more. Featuring vocalist Jay Buchanan, guitarist Scott Holiday, bassist Dave Beste and drummer Mike Miley, Rival Sons play an incendiary blend of rock and roll and blues that brings a modern edge to a classic recipe for rock.

I think this one really lifted the roof...and the roof kept lifting until it reached the sky. Oh how we´d longed for this gig! Over the years Rival Sons have made plenty albums with stellar quality but theese two last ones, Darkfighter and Lightbringer, are nothing but pure magic! The crowd seethed with excitement and as the band entered the stage - Banan Kompaniet exploded with love, joy and gratitude. Rival Sons are like a well oiled machine - every part works exactly as it should and they complete each other as a team. Beste plays the bass so smooth and beautifully and even though he looks cool and calm on the outside - I know there´s a beast inside. Miley is a versatile vitruose on drums and I love how his playful and mischievous personalty shines through his work. Fuzzlord is a fashionable magician enchanting us with his guitars. An Jay, the Preacher... I know for sure God and the Devil envy that golden voice of his. I'm still floating on clouds of happiness and I´m already longing for the next gig. THANK YOU RIVAL SONS!

This was the first time we had managed to catch up with a live performance by Rival Sons. I have all of their albums and love their music, so I had high expectations for the evening. The support band came on and played a great set. L.A.Edwards were very good indeed. My expectations were surpassed as often a support band can not be engaging. Then the main event. Rival Sons took to the stage and completely blew me away with their musicianship, their passion, their amazing catalogue of material, and their sheer stage presence. What a band. When they came on stage, they looked cool, and when they launched into their set, my smile just widened, and I think I can honestly say that they astounded me. Best Rock gig I've ever been to. I cannot wait to see them live again.

Very good as allways. All other concerts I've seen with these fabulous guys I would rate as 5, but this time "something" was missing. The close interaction between Scott and Jay were missing. The open happiness from the band were gone. In all it seemed like they were tired after a loooong consert tour. First in the US and then in Europe. They were still fantastic. Don't doubt about that. One little thing is that they skiped their signature number "Pressure and time" as opening number. Dissapointing😕 even though I figured that out before the concert. Of course they have to promote their Grammy nominee for this year. But they did not play it, and for mee it's their number one signature. Now the tour is soon at it's end and I wish for Michael, Dave, Robin, Jay and Scott tog have some relaxing time when they come home👍🙂🤩

For my sixth time seeing the Sons they were in top form for sure. Jay bounded around the stage from the start, was engaged with the crowd and was spot on vocally. Scott was the guitar god we all know he is, riffing throughout the evening while looking perpetually cool as fuck. Mike and Dave kept the rhythm tight and were a rock solid foundation. As much as it is weird not having Todd on stage, the four piece unit is straight up meat and potatoes and just plain kicks ass. Like anyone, I could quibble about the setlist but I love that they mix it up and keep interesting for the fans and themselves. Ending the show with one of my faves, Secret, was the cherry on the top. Til next time.

Opening bands were Fu Man Shoo and Clutch. I never heard of either band but Clutch with their followers definitely outdid Fu. One third of the crowd left when Clutch finished up. Why? No clue, because RS is so much better than both acts. However we were disappointed with the minimal song selection played that evening. They left out 3 hits with the biggest imo being shooting stars! That's usually their closer. With that being said the band oozes with talent! Jay B is the best rock vocalist in the business today! Why they don't get tours with bigger bands baffles me to no end. If you truly want to see an old school hard rocking band? You have to check out Rival Sons whenever possible!
