Secondborn is a rock band from Lafayette, LA. Formed in 2013 by Daniel Pinner and Tim Benson, the duo focused strictly on songwriting and fused music elements from rock, punk & post-hardcore bands as well as synthesized sounds reminiscent of late 80's dance pop. Patrick Trumps, Alex Daigle, Stefan Hawkins and Lee Gauthreaux were then recruited into the group in which the band started recording the finished songs for the first record. The band's first EP, A Call To Arms was Released in 2014 along with a video for the single "A Call to Arms". The guys immediately went back in to the studio writing and recording their second EP Symbols. Independently writing, recording and mixing their sophomore EP the band quickly perfected their sound that brought on critically acclaimed reviews. Themiews.com said "Symbols is the six song equivalent of a WWE title bout: nothing but an adrenaline soaked, brash, and in your face audio beat down. Fueled by Secondborn's highly skilled musical talents, Symbols, is proof that a great independent album doesn't require the assistance of a Grammy winning producer." Punknews.org said "In Secondborn's case, they've decided to forgo the grind of the touring treadmill and focus solely on songwriting and recording. Their self-funded debut, the mini-album Symbols, is characterized by yearning, spacious guitars calling out over thunderous drums and powerful, heartfelt vocals, a slick, heavy, polished sound that will appeal to fans of Rise Against, Further Seems Forever and 30 Seconds to Mars. Packed with passion and poppy hooks, Symbols is tightly-produced and primed for the mass market, overflowing with driving up-tempo rhythms and widescreen sentiment." And Purgerainaudio.com said "This coming of age album, showcases Secondborn's vast potential of cultivation for the early 2000s, as so many call it, "emo," revival. To bring a sigh of extrication from the current market these guys slam you with a musical passion driven by an outlandish ambiance and convoluted downbeats complimented by polished and mature hymn-like vocals". After the success of Symbols the band returned to the studio and began writing, recording and producing their first full length album due out in 2016.
