Steely Dead is a musical hybrid of Grateful Dead and Steely Dan. Sonic worlds collide between the structure, arrangement and precision studio recordings of rock legends Steely Dan, cross-pollinated with the Grateful Dead’s free flowing, melodic improvisation and masterful song segues. Steely Dead merges these major concepts together while infusing the influence unto each band. For example taking the Grateful Dead’s rocking set-ender Deal and Steely Dan’s Reelin’ in the Years creating the mashup Dealin’ in the Years. Steely Dead is committed to the nuance of both bands while remaining playful with jam segues between songs, and delivering a unique musical blend. For fans of both or either one of these great bands.

I ended up seeing steely dead at Tiki mamas It was fantastic kind of fulfilled a bucket list wish to see Steely Dan music live it was a great venue the people were fun and nice truly enjoyed myself thank you so much
The Boneyard Kea‘au, HIFierce. Seamless jazz rock transitions and overlays of the dan and dead. Absolutely killed kid Charlemagne. These are exceptionally talented artists and obviously awesome people given their GOAT love of the Dan and Dead! Thank you Colorado cousins. Come back soon. Mahalo
Kona Elks Lodge Kailua-Kona, HIGreat band in a killer venue. Love the church and the cool vibe from the staff. Great segues. Would love to see these guys again. Will def be a regular at Sanctuary.
