About Seedy Jeezus

WHAT IS SEEDY IN 2026? Seedy Jeezus are one of Australia’s most formidable heavy rock exports — a power trio built on towering riffs, deep groove, and an unfiltered commitment to rock ’n’ roll in its rawest form. Drawing from the lineage of ’70s hard rock, heavy blues, and cosmic psych, the band have forged a reputation for relentless live performances and records that value feel and power over polish. Over the past decade, Seedy Jeezus have become a staple of international underground rock circuits, particularly in Europe, where their loud, unpretentious approach has earned them a fiercely loyal following. Whether on sweaty club stages or festival bills, the band thrive on volume, momentum, and the communal electricity of live rock music. This tour sees them having content from two albums to play at shows. Seedy Jeezus launched their third studio album in April 2025 - “Damned To The Depths” Described as a “fierce, unrelenting voyage into the raw, molten core of psychedelic rock” and “not just an album of despair and loss, but of defiance, transformation, and liberation.” It’s a slight departure from the usual ‘rock’ effort utilising a more produced ethic, they decided to use the studio to it’s full potential and again with, Tony Reed (Mos generator, Big Scenic Nowhere) channelled the 70’s prog vibes of King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel Genisis. Also- “This and Temple Fangs… are the best releases for 2025 so far…” “This is a masterpiece!… meant to be heard in its entirety… my AOTY.” “One of the most vibrant progressive rock albums I’ve heard… a real sonic journey.” “The 3rd album by Seedy Jeezus… is a masterpiece of Heavy Psych Rock… composed on the theme of mourning, music and lyrics are particularly charged with emotion… Damned To The Depths is fascinatingly beautiful!” — Thierry “Pumpkin-T“ François (Metal Intégral) “Seedy Jeezus… has the ability to sink deep into one’s subconscious… the seven-part ‘Mourning Sea’… contains everything one would want in a prog rock epic… if this album was released in 1975 we might be looking back on it as a 1970s prog rock masterpiece.” — Jamie Laszlo (Sea of Tranquility) “Their latest album… takes that blend further than ever… heavy, thoughtful, and impossible to ignore.” — Psychedelic Baby Magazine They also have a 2026 tour album- Hell Yeah! Available exclusively on the upcoming European tour, Hell Yeah! is a raw, straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll release capturing Seedy Jeezus in full flight. Featuring original Seedy Jeezus material alongside carefully chosen covers, the album reflects the band’s live energy and no-frills approach. The rest of Hell Yeah is a deep dive into the band’s influences, particularly across New Zealand’s underground rock history. Central to this is a tribute to Human Instinct, the late-’60s Kiwi band who played riffs hard and heavy long before the term “stoner rock” existed. If you haven’t fallen down the Human Instinct rabbit hole yet, consider this your warning. “Stoned Guitar” is a wah-fuzz onslaught - scorched-earth riffing that melts brains as it rides a motorik pulse somewhere between proto-metal and the hypnotic drive of Neu! Meanwhile, “Midnight Sun” is a full sonic descent, slow and immersive, pulling the listener into the depths. Adding an extra layer of authenticity, “Midnight Sun” features vocals from Maurice Greer, the drummer and vocalist of Human Instinct. It’s more than a cover - it’s a generational hand-off, connecting Seedy Jeezus directly to the source of the music that inspired them. As if that wasn’t enough, the album also includes a blistering version of Toy Love’s “Pull Down the Shades.” One of New Zealand’s original punk bands brought all the snarl, spit, and urgency of the late-’70s UK scene, and Seedy Jeezus channel that same no-frills, push-and-shove DIY energy here - raw, fast, and confrontational. Rounding out the record is “Evil,” the heavy blues classic made infamous by Howlin’ Wolf and later electrified by Cactus. Seedy Jeezus tap into that lineage with a performance that bridges primal blues grit and full-throttle hard rock, closing Hell Yeah, the same way it began - loud, dangerous, and alive. Hell Yeah isn’t a nostalgia exercise or a studio experiment. It’s a document of a band in motion - four days, full volume, no safety net - built to be played loud on the road where it belongs. In June 2026, Seedy Jeezus return to Europe for a run of shows across Germany, France, and the Netherlands, coinciding with several major releases and a landmark live appearance with their international supergroup Tranquonauts.
