The Shams first began in San Francisco in 2011, founded by charismatic frontman Sean Daly (Donegal, Ireland). Hundreds of shows and two continents later the band has re-formed in Portland Oregon and continues to tour up and down the west coast. They’ve shared the stage with Irish and American-Irish performers including Damien Dempsy, The Irish Brigade, Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones, Mundy, The Young Dubliners, The Tossers, Gaelic Storm, Celtica. They have also supported Canadian Irish Punk stalwarts The Real McKenzies, The Mahones, and English Punk Legends The Vibrators. The Shams continue the evolution of Irish music providing a new take unlike any you’ve heard before. With each electric live performance, the group adds scores of new fans excited for what’s to come. The band is recording, writing new music, and touring extensively. Look for them and be ready for the Craic!
