TORTURE SQUAD was formed in 1989, in São Paulo city, having Cristiano Fusco as guitarist and founder, Marcelo Fusco on drums and Marcelo Dirceu as bassist and vocals. Playing in the underground metal scene in São Paulo, and with no recorded work until the beginning of the 90’s, all members leave the band except the guitarist. In 1993, Fusco recruited new band members and invited to join the band drummer Amilcar Christófaro (RTH), bassist Castor (TOXIC STAGE). Amilcar brought from your old band the singer Vitor Rodrigues (RTH) and guitarist Fulvio Pelli (RTH), giving to the band a new and real beginning. In 2022, the band performed at “La Iglesia” in São Paulo, giving rise to the live album “Torture at La Iglesia En Vivo, and also the single “The Fallen Ones” with an exclusive premiere in the American magazine Decibel Magazine. Closing the year with a show alongside one of the legends of world thrash metal “Exodus” at Carioca Club, in São Paulo. The following year, Torture Squad signed with the Italian label Time To Kill Records for the release of the ninth studio album entitled “Devlish” to be released on September 22, 2023. The year 2024 is dedicated to the promotion of “Devilish” with highlights including shows at Summer Breeze Brasil, with the live music video for “Murder of a God”, and with Sepultura on the “Celebrating Life Through Death” tour at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, in a sold-out night in front of 9,000 people. Since After its release, the band released the lyric video for “Mabus” and music videos for the songs “Hell is Coming”, “Flukeman”, “Warrior” (this one featuring Leather Leone), “Find My Way”, with the release of “Thoth” and “A Farewell To Mankind” scheduled for the end of 2025. In 2025, while the band continues to compose songs for their tenth studio album, they continue with the Devilish Tour, which will feature their fourth performance (July 31) at one of the biggest metal festivals in the world, Wacken Open Air, which takes place in Germany.
