About Tool
Formed around 1990 in Los Angeles, California, United States, Tool is a band that is most noted for combining hard rock with a wide variety of progressive structures, irregular time signatures and lyrics that range from anger to philosophical and social matters. After performing a handful of shows in the Los Angeles area and up the West Coast, they toured in the United States with Rollins Band in the summer of 1992 in support of their EP Opiate. Their first full length recording, Undertow, was released in 1993. Emerging with a groovy heavy metal sound on their first release, when the genre was dominated by thrash metal, they were later seen at the top of the alternative metal movement with the release of their second full-length studio album Ænima in 1996, the first recording the band made after original bassist Paul d'Amour left the band to form Lusk. After an ongoing evolution of their sound and continuous efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution on Lateralus (2001), their most recent album 10,000 Days (2006), as well as respective tours, they are generally described as a style-transgressing act and part of progressive and art rock. Their aspirational work features exceptionally long or complex releases, controversial lyrics and cover art, and unorthodox music videos, which results in a rather ambivalent relationship between the band and today's music industry, at times marked by censorship, and the band's ongoing struggle for privacy. Nevertheless, Tool receive critical acclaim, have won Grammy Awards, perform worldwide tours, and produce albums that top the charts in several countries. Between album releases, the band takes extended breaks that allow for collaboration with other artists to design award-winning album packaging, elaborate light shows and involvement in notable side-projects. Currently the band consists of: Danny Carey (Drums) Justin Chancellor (Bass) Adam Jones (Guitar) Maynard James Keenan (Vocals) They currently have 6 major releases: Opiate (1992) Undertow (1993) Ænima (1996) Salival (Live) (2000) Lateralus (2001) 10,000 Days (2006)

Great show I loved it when Maynard pointed out the guy recording with his phone said he was a rookie or something funny. But the best was the light show and Culling when looking up at what seemed like millions of glittering confetti falling when there was only idk a few hundred idk not sure how they made that look so real but how beautiful and amazing that was. Only grip I have is as always the setlist I know they have ew stuff they want to play but I need more cuts from Lateralus would be nice.

Good but they’ve had better effects like sand-sprayed acrobats walking on all fours and doing acrobatics stunts on long pieces of fabric. Visuals were really nothing we haven’t all seen before. Just felt like they were sticking to the same show routine & commentary for each show. As a long-time fan since the mid 90s... I have to admit I wasn’t very impressed with the show nor the 6 song album with bad segue filler. I guess yes it is hard to top past perfection (music), just had higher hopes & expectations I guess during this long hiatus.

Astonishing show. The visuals, the playing and the sound. The sound in the Arena is very often pretty crap but not so last night. Hard to believe how much power they generate but it wasn't just about volume its the depth of the sound that sets them apart. All of it helped by the often hypnotising visuals. Mix of latest stuff with a selection of oldies thrown in. Pretty faultless really We've waited so long to see them in Manchester and it was more than worth the wait. I wish could see it all over again.

There is no band like TOOL. They combine the technical expertise of the most polished metal bands with the emotional articulation of the angriest, most revolutionary punk bands to create what are sometimes disturbing, often humorous, but always thought-provoking audio and visual experiences. The set list in Cleveland was a non-stop barrage of face-melting perfection, well-balanced from the band’s 30-year catalogue, and executed flawlessly. I can only hope this band continues to tour and make more music, preferably with much less time between releases. I highly recommend the VIP Experience if the opportunity is available.

Show was insane. It’s been over a decade since I’ve seen them and felt good to be back in the atmosphere of the most wicked lights and background art. And of course the boys killed it. Whoever leads the rules of what you can and cannot do, like videoing during show, especially your favorite songs, needs to warn you if caught doing it and you’re not supposed to and tell you to stop. NOT KICK YOU OUT!!! Hundreds of fans got escorted out of show last night for taking pics and video. Unreal

AMAZING I didn't have the best seats I was on the side of the stage and they didn't face us but surprisingly they gave us attention and shined the stage lights on us it was so good I was so happy they played on my mom's birthday and that was able to get the tickets for her 😭💖 The band insisted that there will be no video or photos taken which I have so much respect for and love then on the last song Maynard let us take pictures and video

this was my third concert ever and first metal concert. to say that this was amazing would be an understatement. the lights, the graphics, the AUDIO was awesome. maynard was a fucking character and it was hilarious. all of them are just so talented it was awesome. i’d say expect to spend a lot on drinks and shirts but it was well worth it. also don’t take videos until maynard says you can, or he’ll kick you in the vagina.

Long time Tool fan from side stage at Lollapalooza & Undertow days. They ‘sounded’ & played great. Cool visuals & efx. However the lack of any interaction whatsoever with us in the crowd & Maynard’s further disconnect, singing at rear of stage, on riser next to drums is disconcerting (no pun intended). Though you kinda know that going in so it is what is. Once again, they sounded & played great.

Literally worth every single penny, drop of gas and precious moments spent to travel there. It was as perfect as one could hope in regards to a show in support of an album (6 of the 7 main tracks were played). Add in some serious throwback tracks and classics from recent efforts, not to mention a second to none audio/visual/laser/smoke experience, and there's not much more one could ask for.

Amazing concert! The visuals were absolutely astonishing and a thrill to watch. Song after song TOOL just absolutely killed it! I was there with my father, who's been to a LOT of concerts, said that Pneuma may just be is best live experience ever! One of my favourite perfomances was The Pot. That song just does something to you, you know? And finally seeing it live... Was something else.
