About Tommy Emmanuel
Tommy Emmanuel, CGP has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At age six, he was touring Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock lead guitarist playing stadiums. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a "Certified Guitar Player (CGP)" by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays sold-out shows everywhere from Nashville to London to Sydney. Influenced by the Merle Travis/Chet Atkins fingerstyle of guitar pickin', Emmanuel developed a style of solo guitar playing that encompasses the range of a whole band - covering drums, bass, rhythm, lead guitar, and vocal melody simultaneously. While some artist take a band on the road, Tommy build a complete sonic world entirely on his own with no overdubs or loops. Tommy has multiple Grammy nominations, a 3 time Aria Award Winner (Australia’s Grammys), countless "Guitar Player” awards, and he was now numerous magazine polls naming him the greatest acoustic guitarist alive. He’s grateful for it all. For Tommy though, the greatest reward is always the same - to make the next great record and to see the beaming audience at the next great show.

What an enjoyable evening! Both Tommy and Jerry were great entertainers, on top of their skills on the guitar. The venue was awesome for this kind of a concert. I’ve waited three years to see Tommy come back to Portland and the wait was well worth it!

If you never go to another live music event in your lifetime, you must experience Tommy Emmanuel’s prodigious talent and complete mastery of the guitar at least once. The sound this man extracts from six wires and a timber box has to be heard to be believed. Simply unbelievable.

Kruger Brothers were phenomenal Tommy Emmanuel was great. Show would get 5 stars but weather moved in about 30minutes into Tommy Emmanuel's act and it was cut short. Anyone who has not seen the Kruger Brothers is missing a real treat.

Tommy is an incredible musician and entertainer! Not often can one person display such talent, showmanship and rapport with the audience. The only beef we had was the very chilly temperature in the Hawaii Theater. A beautiful venue but why so cold?
