Tommy Emmanuel, CGP has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At age six, he was touring Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock lead guitarist playing stadiums. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a "Certified Guitar Player (CGP)" by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays sold-out shows everywhere from Nashville to London to Sydney. Influenced by the Merle Travis/Chet Atkins fingerstyle of guitar pickin', Emmanuel developed a style of solo guitar playing that encompasses the range of a whole band - covering drums, bass, rhythm, lead guitar, and vocal melody simultaneously. While some artist take a band on the road, Tommy build a complete sonic world entirely on his own with no overdubs or loops. Tommy has multiple Grammy nominations, a 3 time Aria Award Winner (Australia’s Grammys), countless "Guitar Player” awards, and he was now numerous magazine polls naming him the greatest acoustic guitarist alive. He’s grateful for it all. For Tommy though, the greatest reward is always the same - to make the next great record and to see the beaming audience at the next great show.

What can I say… Tommy is just on another level when it comes to playing an acoustic guitar. A guitar player myself, I took my guitar teacher along… and all night he continued to look at me and just say “WOW….”!! Great player, great show. Hope he comes back soon!
Center for the Arts of Homer Homer, NYExcellent show. Played 2 sets, almost 2 hours total. Did a few requests as well and a great medley of several Beatles songs with a sing along to Day Tripper and John Lennon’s Imagine. Great show Tommy. Thanks for the memories. Love the Center for the Arts.
The Center For the Arts Grass Valley, CAGreat show! Gracious, humble, humorous, ridiculously talented and skillful guitarist and performer! He’s a terrific frontman and can make that geetar sound like a full band! Two sets and nearly 2 hours of solo acoustic gems — filled full with engaging storytelling and soulful, technically executed musicianship. A true Australian musical mensch!
Capitol Theatre Wheeling, WVFirstOntario Performing Arts Centre was first class - no complaints! Tommy Emmanuel was spellbinding! Never seen anything like this! A must show for any guitar player. Warning - yo may experience an urge to sell your guitars, but don't worry - it will pass - keep practicing!
FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre St. Catharines, ONWhat an enjoyable evening! Both Tommy and Jerry were great entertainers, on top of their skills on the guitar. The venue was awesome for this kind of a concert. I’ve waited three years to see Tommy come back to Portland and the wait was well worth it!
