Emerging from the rain drenched shadows of Seattle, Walking Papers crafts a menacing, visceral brand of rock and roll steeped in dread, longing, and redemption. Their sound is a seductive cabaret of dirty blues and nocturnal art rock where bruised piano chords and predatory guitar riffs collide with thunderous, hypnotic rhythms. Across critically revered works such as their self titled genesis, WP2, and the haunting sprawling expanse of The Light Below, the ensemble conjures a cinematic underworld of moral decay, restless ghosts, and smoldering romantic ruin. Carried by snarling, sermon like vocals that oscillate between a conspiratorial whisper and an apocalyptic howl, Walking Papers’ live performances unfold with the feral, cathartic fervor of a big tent revival, pulling audiences into a hypnotic tension between salvation and damnation.
