About World News
World News (AKA World News 808909) is the live electronic hardware project of Bill Cutbill and Qu Mi.
The debut album – ON STEROIDS – arrives via Toronto label Safe Sounds in October 2025.
Known for their high energy live shows, World News perform with six tiers of hardware... synthesizers, drum machines, effects and NO COMPUTER. The duo melt elements of techno, house and alternative music for a unique sound with improvisation at its core.
On Lot Lizard, World News once again linked up with producer Josh Korody (Japandroids, Tess Parks, Traitrs) with a music video from visual artist, Shawn Chiki. Alexandrité was mixed by Emmy award winner, Brandon Bak (Possum, Ooze).
