311 was formed in Omaha, Nebraska by singer/guitarist Nick Hexum, singer S.A. Martinez, guitarist Tim Mahoney, drummer Chad Sexton and bassist P-Nut. The band now resides in Los Angeles, California. 311 mix rock, reggae, hip-hop and funk into their own unique sound. After years of consistent touring, 311 have developed a reputation as one of the most entertaining & dynamic live bands in the U.S. 311 have sold over 9 million albums in the U.S. Nine of their albums have debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard's Top 200 Sales Chart...and nine of their singles have reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Alternative Radio Chart (including the #1 singles Down, Love Song & Don't Tread On Me - along with Amber, All Mixed Up, Come Original, Creatures For Awhile, Hey You and Sunset in July). 311’s 11th studio album, STEREOLITHIC, debuted at #6 on the Top 200 Album Chart in March 2014. 311 plan to release a new album in early 2017. I had so much fun and loved the group of people. The weather was great and the bands played so amazingly. The only thing that I didn't like was that bayfront had a big part of the field blocked off for "VIP" and the bands didn't even know about that. One band even tried getting everyone to join the stage (like how it should be). Overall, great show!
Bayfront Festival Park Duluth, MNThis was one of only four US tour dates on 311's 2024 tour and I definitely did not want to miss it, let alone in an amazing (non-ampitheatre) venue like The Norva. While I appreciate their material post-2010, 311 treated us to almost 85% of songs pre-2010. The band still has it and the crowd of fans this night were there for it. Did not disappoint; 10/10.
The NorVa Norfolk, VAMy only gripe was that Creatures was not played. Hahaha. All good because 311 not only brought the energy, as they always do, but played an amazing mix of classics and deep cuts. My kids and I were singing along and just had a blast. Love the venue specific Merch, really give an attention to detail that is really appreciated
Merriweather Post Pavilion Columbia, MDThe event itself was a great time. I had a great time. Venue is also very nice but I had a couple of problems! The drink selection was very lacking. Not many options and not many good options. Definitely need to change some stuff up there. Also, getting out of the venue was quite difficult as there is only one way out.
The Rooftop at Pier 17 New York, NYThe band was amazing! They always are. My gripe is the venue. It should be criminal to have no air conditioning in the middle of summer. It was unbearably hot. The sound system in there blows too! 311 played the Riverside theatre a few years back. They need to come back there.
