About Black Violin
Black Violin is led by classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin). Joining them onstage are DJ SPS & drummer Nat Stokes. The band uses their unique blend of classical & hip-hop music, often described as “classical boom," to overcome stereotypes & encourage people of all ages, races, & economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers. Black Violin is currently touring the US and their next studio album Take the Stairs is set to be released on November 1, 2019. Their last record, Stereotypes, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Chart and #4 on the Billboard R&B Chart. NPR praised the album & band, saying “their music will keep classical music alive for the next generation.” Some of their creative collaborations include Kanye West, Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean, Lil Wayne, & Alicia Keys. Black Violin’s Impossible Tour spreads the message that anything is possible & there are no limits to what one can achieve, regardless of circumstance.

Oh my goodness, I can't even handle how amazing this show was! YouTube does not do them justice - their skills are unbelievable, and the way they merge two genres and sounds are incredible. Their energy, their message, their entire group - the DJ did his own rendition of Beethoven's 5th symphony - blew my mind! I highly recommend seeing them :)

My son and I throughly enjoyed the guys’ outstanding and amazing talents. I am super proud of these guys for breaking the stereotype and getting out the box. I like how they are leading by example and being great role models. The highlight was their former teacher who inspired them was actually in the audience! What an honor!

Amazing performance. Well, actually they made sure it was a party. Not a show. And this party had everything. Amazing classical symphonics, a fun DJ, raw solos, outstanding vocals, encouragement and motivation. By the end they had the entire concert hall dancing on thier feet. You’ll never see something quite like Black Violin.

This was an awesome concert. Black Violin was fantastic…so talented and fun to watch! Only gave it 4.5 stars because sound mixing was off…drums drowned out the violins and any singing. Abraham Alexander was a wonderful treat to start out the night. I immediately downloaded his new album.

It was the most amazing concert that I have ever been to. Their music touched me personally. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys music (either classical or contemporary), young and old. I took my eight years old son and he really loved it too.

Absolutely incredible show! I loved seeing a few of my elementary students attending with their parents. The family-friendly format was a welcome addition to an already amazing performance by high-level musicians and arrangers. These guys are treasured in my family and my school.

As usual, they gave an excellent performance! The crowd was a bit stuffy (not dancing as much as at the York, PA show) but the band kept the energy up and delivered their amazing brand of music!

This was hands down the best show I’ve ever seen (and I see a lot of great live music). Black Violin has amazing energy! I just left and can’t wait until the next time they’re in town.
