About Clutch
Neil Fallon – vocals & guitar Jean-Paul Gaster – drums Dan Maines – bass Tim Sult – guitar CLUTCH shares more in common with The Grateful Dead, Rush, and the Allman Brothers than their heavy riffs and heady twists-of-phrase might suggest. Because like those bands, the supporters who adore CLUTCH are there for the experience, community, and authentic connection. To love CLUTCH is to feel a sense of ownership, membership, and belonging. Seneca Valley High School classmates Neil Fallon (vocals), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums) share an unshakeable musical and personal bond now three decades strong. Shaped by the same region which birthed Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Rites Of Spring, CLUTCH crafts hyper-literate and libertine jams informed by hardcore fury and fuzzy, athletic, stoner rock. A worldwide cabal of fans and critics cherish the band’s dense and diverse catalog of underground classics, released through major labels, indies, and since 2009, Clutch’s own Weathermaker imprint. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach, the band’s thirteenth studio album, is a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great and another giant leap forward into career longevity. “There’s no question that Clutch etched themselves a name in the pantheon of great rock bands,” Lambgoat wrote in 2004. Classic Rock Magazine counted 2013’s Earth Rocker and 2015’s Psychic Warfare among the 50 Best Rock Albums of the 2010s. Rolling Stone described 2018’s Book of Bad Decisions as “bathed in the grit and liberal fuzz tone that have made their live shows legendary.” Those live shows over the years include tours with Slayer, System Of A Down, and Marilyn Manson, and more recent co-headlining treks with Dropkick Murphys, Killswitch Engage, and Mastodon. Like Slayer or Iron Maiden, CLUTCH outlasted rock bands anchored to “hit songs” and the pressure of replicating them. The foursome from Germantown, Maryland, isn’t bound by trends. Across 13 studio albums and assorted releases since 1991, they’ve earned a reputation as one of the best around.

This was my 3rd time seeing Clutch so hoped the “Hometown” show would feature a more balanced set list of hits, deep cuts and the new album but I left a little disappointed they didn’t play anything from their self-title, Elephant Riders, Earth Rocker or Blast Tyrant (no DC Sound Attack? Mob Goes Wild?). The band played with their signature energy and played a lot of the new material but I would have loved to hear more of the tried-and-true, fist-pumping jams.

Nate Bergman started right at 8, I think some thought cause the venue listed it starting at 7:30, it was supposed to start at 8. The Sword did need more vocals plus I thought there songs sounded to much like other songs they played. Clutch was awesome like always just wish they played some older stuff, I had a buddy with me that just knew old Clutch but that's his fault lol. Couldn't believe they didn't play anything from "Transnational Speedway League" 🤷

The Native Howl was a fantastic opener. Unique sound and great energy to put everyone in a good mood. Met the singer (Alex) at the end of the show and he was such a nice guy, could not have gone better. Many Eyes followed suit by pumping everyone up for the show with some good fast metal. Very gracious to the crowd. Clutch killed it with their flawless performance of their album "Blast Tyrant" and some bonus tracks at the end for the fans.

Clutch always puts on a Class A show. They were made for live performances and their skill in making a room bounce is unparalleled. Lionize played a great show, too, but out of the woodwork came Kingsnake, a local Philly band that blew me away. They finished their set, and I immediately left to buy an album from them. If anyone reads this and enjoys a good rock show, this evening's lineup will surely tickle your rock and roll soul.

It's not possible to have a less than stellar live music experience at a Clutch show. The crowd rocks gravel road gritty but with the civility of southern aristocracy. The sound crew has tuned the set to hum with earth rocking vibrato in all venues in which I have sopped up their musical manna - from Juanita's, The Village, The Hall, and Asheville's Orange, Memphis's Mendenhall, and others. Stellar...nothing less than stellar - sodded with space grass.

Great show! We were able to get in the second row. This was our second time seeing The Native Howl. They should be headliners! Blacktop Mojo did not disappoint. I swear they are even better live! Clutch was phenomenal! He makes sure to give the full audience his attention. I've never seen anyone else do that the full performance. That man can entertain!!! If you get the chance to see either of these bands, GO!

Amazing, never been to this venue and was a little weirded out when I rode out and saw it and it’s in the middle of Nowhere. However on the inside was nice and roomy and all the people that worked there were super cool, even the security guys I talked to. Clutch was awesome of course and made ridin My motorcycle 2hrs to the middle of nowhere totally worth it. 5 starfishes from this guy.

As always, clutch delivered the high energy intensive show you’ve come to expect. They stuck mainly to their fan favorites, adding a new song and an old Black Sabbath cover to their list this time. I think this is the first time I’ve seen them that they didn’t play electric worry. But they did play Spacegrass for the encore. Overall a great show and a great time!

Clutch was great. Jeff Pinkus opened with a banjo set pretty great stuff. Only complaint was with Hammerjacks and their food and drink system. you order in one line, then go wait for your food in one line, then wait in another line for your drink. I spent the whole quicksand set waiting for a drink. Hammerjacks, step up your drink game because that was pathetic.
