In the heart of the forest, surrounded by rushing streams and whispering groves, a band was formed that keeps the myths and legends of forgotten days alive through music. Gernotshagen, named after a long-forgotten settlement near their hometown of Trusetal, sings of the majesty of nature and tells stories of gods, heroes, and transience, of untouched places and local legends that have themselves become myths. What began in 1999 has long since developed into a powerful project that penetrates deep into the soul. From the musical roots of German pagan black metal grows an inimitable epic of sublime guitars, atmospheric keyboards, and powerful vocals, in which the spirits of the past echo. From their first performances to becoming an established genre giant, Gernotshagen has continued to evolve. The albums "Wintermythen," "Märe aus Wäldernen Hallen," and "Weltenbrand – Die Banner hoch der Nacht entgegen" were followed by the work "Ode Naturae," which not only expanded the musical range, but also deepened the lyrical themes. With their atmospheric shows, Gernotshagen are a highly regarded live band and celebrated their highlights with performances at Wacken Open Air, Wave Gothic Treffen, Ragnarök Festival, and various European tours, among others.
