(juh-nay. ahh-ee-ko) ” I am not this image I am not my name (Jhene Aiko Efuru Chilombo) I am not my age ( March 16 1988) I am not my ethnicity (Japanese, African American, Native American, etc….) I am not where I was born and raised (Los Angeles, California) I am not my mistakes and misfortunes I am not what I have gained and have lost I am A mother to a beautiful girl named Namiko. A baby sister to 3 brothers, 3 sisters and a big sister to 1. The daughter of Christina Yamamoto and Karamo Chilombo but more relevantly, the Daughter of Water, Earth and the Sun. I signed to Epic/TUG as a 12 year old child, and asked to be released from both companies at the age of 16 to finish high school. I escaped the made up world of Hollywood to experience the natural beauty of the real world. I am a writer, so I never stopped writing. I am a singer, so I never stopped singing. I am a student of life, so I never stopped learning and experiencing. Shortly before I conceived my daughter, I stepped back into the field and took a meeting with a label head . In this meeting, I was innocently told, to “sell” myself “when walking into these meetings.” That’s when I decided I would sail my “self” rather than sell my “self”. About a year and a half later. I conceived my second child…. “sailing soul(s)”, with the amazing Los Angeles based producers, Fisticuffs. sailing soul(s) is my first of many offerings to any and everyone who will listen and pay attention. Such an amazing experience!! All of the performers sing so beautifully, the set designs were cute and all of the back up dancers did an amazing job. This is my second time seeing Jhené Aiko. It was better than the first! Such an amazing group of women all coming together to make beautiful music and share their passion!!
Golden 1 Center Sacramento, CAThe show was amazing and I love me some Jhene Aiko. She is such a vibe and her music is everything. However I was a little disappointed with the technical difficulties (Uni and Tink) had when performing. Coco Jones was amazing. I wish Jhene would have performed longer than 47 mins. Overall the show was fire.
Oakland Arena Oakland, CAI've been a fan of Jhene's since 2013. Seeing her in concert was on my bucket list. Her show in Houston on 7/10/2024 was one of the most beautiful shows I have ever attended. I would absolutely see her again. I recommend everyone experience one of her shows at least once in their life.
Toyota Center Houston, TXLoved it ! There were no crazy long lines , the merch & drink lines also moved fast ! Jhene is an amazing performer and her girl gang she brought with her were all very fun to watch ! Tyga as a surprised guest so fun !
MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, NVShow was great, people will complain about the opening acts having technical difficulties and having to restart 15min later but the show was great beginning to end, the host from Chicago (forgot his name) did great between the artist to keep the crowd locked in
