About Kansas
With a legendary career spanning five decades, KANSAS has firmly established itself as one of America’s iconic classic rock bands. This "garage band" from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide. Composing a catalogue that includes sixteen studio albums and five live albums, KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), one quadruple-Platinum single ‘Carry On Wayward Son,’ and another triple-Platinum single ‘Dust in the Wind.’ KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ‘70's and ‘80's and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and ‘Dust In the Wind’ has been played on the radio more than three million times! The summer of 2020 marked the release of “The Absence of Presence,” KANSAS’s sixteenth studio album, which debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart. The wide-ranging progressive rock album, released by InsideOut Music, follows-up 2016’s “The Prelude Implicit,” which debuted at #14 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. Throughout 2016-2022, the band celebrated the anniversaries of multi-Platinum breakout albums “Leftoverture” and “Point of Know Return” with anniversary tours for both albums. Both tours were commemorated with live album releases “Leftoverture Live & Beyond” (2017) & “Point of Know Return Live & Beyond” (2021). The band is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist Joe Deninzon, keyboardist/vocalist Tom Brislin, guitarist Zak Rizvi, bassist/vocalist Dan McGowan, and original guitarist Richard Williams. Eric Holmquist is performing on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack. With no signs of slowing down, KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world. Along with constant touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio and popular culture. The band continues to reach a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence in various commercials, popular video games Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Grand Theft Auto; the band’s documentary film “KANSAS: Miracles Out of Nowhere,” and a guest appearance on The CW’s television show ‘Walker.’ The band’s songs have also been included in various television shows such as ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Reacher,’ ‘’South Park,’ ‘The Office,’ and ‘The Simpsons;’ as well as blockbuster films including ‘Old School,’ ‘The Suicide Squad,’ ‘Anchorman,’ ‘Pitch Perfect,’ and ‘Happy Gilmore.’

As a Kansas fan, you know the song arraignments and musicianship are unsurpassed. Their live shows are true to form. The sound is fabulous, the performances collectively and individually are top-notch and the entertainment value cannot be beat. Last night's performance in Mesa was one of the best live concerts I have been to in recent years. If you have not seen them, go now while they are on tour. Hurry back to Arizona!

Even though Rich Williams is the only remaining original member-until Phil Ehart fully recovers from his heart attack, and returns to the band-they did a fantastic job with all of their music. It’s never the same without original members, but the new members knew the songs inside and out! I’m blessed to have seen the original band back in 1979/80-and I missed the guys, but it was awesome to hear the music live, again!

It was outstanding. I love the Ryman. The staff are courteous and helpful. The lighting for the show was great. The sound was top notch. The Band was spectacular. They re accomplished musicians who write and perform beloved songs that make me feel nostalgic. My husband and I did a lot of cannoodling to Kansas music in our youth. I loved it!

Kansas Point of no Return concert at the Au Rene Theatre in Ft . Lauderdale was awesome. Kansas founding member and drummer Phil Ehart drum performance was a classic. The other founding member Rich Williams was perfect on his guitar performance. The bands final encore of “Carry on my Wayward Son” brought the house down. Thanks Kansas for coming to Ft.Lauderdale with this mind blowing performance!!

Absolutely amazing! This is a great group of musicians, and with Rich Williams still a part of the band it keeps the Kansas legacy alive. Ronnie Platt is an absolutely incredible singer, and his and the whole band’s energy is fantastic. And Joe Deninzon on the violin, unbelievable! Kansas always puts on an amazing show, and I highly recommend seeing them given a chance!

My first KANSAS concert and was thoroughly impressed with the performance. Also, the venue is smaller than other places and the sound was expertly mixed to perfection. The new songs they performed from "The Absence of Presence" blended in nicely with the classics Prog is Back in a big way and you don't want to miss them when they come to your town.

What a terrific show! All the band were in fine form, but special MVP commendations go to Tom Brislin, on keyboards, whose tasty fills and leads both honoured the band's recorded history and allowed him to flash his own estimable chops, and Joe Deninzon on violin, who just blew the roof off of Massey Hall! So great!
