Her debut album I was named one of the best releases of 2017 by The New York Times, who praised her voice as “husky in depth but tender in tone.” With each release, Niia pushes further into new territory — from the moody alt-R&B of I to the ambient explorations of OFFAIR: Mouthful of Salt and, most recently, V, her fearless reinvention of vocal jazz on the iconic Candid Records. Across it all, her work is marked by a sharp lyrical wit, emotional rawness, and a refusal to play by genre rules.
