About Peter Frampton
Peter Frampton (born 22 April 1950 in Beckenham, Kent) is a British musician, best known today for his multi-platinum selling solo work in the mid-1970s when he was an "arena rocker". He originally became famous, however, as a young member of psychedelic era band The Herd and became a teen idol in Britain. Steve Marriott reportedly wanted to bring the 18 year old Frampton into the Small Faces lineup but when rebuffed, started Humble Pie with Frampton instead. After touring the US and Europe for two years, he left Humble Pie as the group was gaining popularity because of disdain for Marriott's hard living lifestyle and screaming boogie rock direction. Aside from his work with Humble Pie, other recordings of this era that feature Frampton include albums by Harry Nilsson, Jerry Lee Lewis, and George Harrison. His solo debut was 1972's Wind of Change, which did not fare well on the charts, and neither did two more efforts, oneunderthe moniker Frampton's Camel. Constant touring though began to create awareness of his talents and 1974's Frampton LP went gold. He gained lasting international fame by 1976 when his much-loved live album, Frampton Comes Alive! was released. Having built up his reputation on the road, the LP debuted at No. 1 on the charts in January 1976. It was long considered the best-selling live album of all time, moving over 16 million copies worldwide. In 1978, Peter suffered a near fatal car crash in the Bahamas, which left him with a concussion, muscle damage and broken bones. But in 1979, he released the album 'Where I Should Be', which went gold and produced the hit 'I Can't Stand It No More'. His extensive use of the Talk Box effect was and still is an integral part of the Peter Frampton experience. His albums never regained the high chart placements of the 70's era but he has continued his musical career none the less. Among the gimmicks he's employed to maintain interest have been releasing Frampton Comes Alive II, as well as joining Ringo Starr's touring revue, recording two CDs with ex-Stone Bill Wyman and unsucessfully attempting to reunite with Steve Marriott before his death in 1991. Other notable occasions include starring with Bee Gees in a film version of The Beatles Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album and playing with David Bowie on his Never Let Me Down album and tour. In 2006, Frampton released Fingerprints, a completely instrumental guitar showcase album. Peter now resides in Cincinnati, Ohio and can still be found playing concerts around the world.

Great show as always. Peter is one of the very best guitarists out there. The best of the best! His voice is great as a young man of 25 years old. His band is great also and they are great compliments to each other. I have seen him several times and he is always great. That is great that he is out there entertaining us in his current medical condition. His show lasted over 2.5 hours with no breaks and the sound level was perfect. I truly believe that Peter is a very caring compassionate person also. Vote for him to be in the Rock Hall of fame . Peter Frampton should have been in the rock hall 40 years ago. Go see him you won’t be disappointed at all!

In a word, the show was wonderful! Pete came on the stage, sat down, and played for over 2 hours. My impression was that he and his band were thouroghly enjoying themselfs with all of the smiles and looks at eah other. A nice tough was their homages to diceased musicians and it seemed that Pete holds a special place for George Harrison and David Bowie. HIs band was excellent...every one of them...with a special call out for the drummer, keyboards, and 2nd guitar. I was very suprised that his voice and playing were just lile 1976 which took me back to a 14 year old boy hearing Frampton Comes Alive on the loud speakers of the local swimming pool club.

PROMOTERS..can we stop putting our older celebrities with recent health problems out to play in the heat? Peter could have played inside Ruth Ekard Hall. Maybe 2 shows if necessary. It was 90+ degrees out. This happened to Chris Holmes on the Monsters of Rock Cruise as well. There were lots of indoor venues on the ship. He got put out at the pool at noon. Lots of people their age in the crowd too Many can't cope with the heat very well either. Peter had a air conditioner blowing at him..but he said it didn't help. Please start considering this. People like this are more at risk for heat stroke. I'd like to see them treated with more consideration.

I would start by calling this show bittersweet. Peter Frampton, along with the others in the band, are extremely talented and a joy to see perform live. I'm sure we all wish Mr. Frampton the best with his health. He clearly loves what he does and it send as though that's being taken away from him. As I stated, it's wonderful watching him as he performs. You can see the joy in his eyes as he plays for a crowd of his fans. I hope his situation changes for the better. If not, Red Rocks is one hell of a venue to see him for one last time. I'm grateful to have been apart of the experience 🙂

I have had the pleasure of seeing Peter Frampton perform numerous times including his Farewell concert at Red Rocks but last night’s show in Bethlehem was incredible. He dug deep in the archives and played songs off his early albums and also mixed in his hits. While he may not be able to stand up to play any longer due to his disease process, he has not lost an ounce of talent playing guitar and singing. Incredible band, great moments of humor during audience interactions and hoping he will do Never Say Never 2.0 if he is able. This is a show not to miss! The guitar jams were memorable! Thank you Peter for a magical night!

His legs may have been affected by inclusion body myositis, but his fingers, hands and voice are untouched! He and his stellar band performed for nearly 3 hours last night without a break. He has to sit to play these days and walked onstage using a cane. But during that nearly 3 hours he engaged the audience, exhibited fine humor and played his ass off! After his encore ( a couple of Humble Pie tunes if you please ) he used a cane and some support from his drummer to exit the stage. As long as he continues to tour, I’m there!! Excellent show!

Great show! Peter really created a deep connection with the audience. He both satisfied our desired to be nostalgic and hear the hits we grew up as well as wowed us with more recent selections. The sheer warmth of his presence made you feel that he was as happy to be there as his fans were to see him. That said, how was the music? It was amazing. Vocally, he sounds as good or better than 50 years ago, and instrumentally, he still continues to amaze! I would definitely highly recommend this show to anyone with an appreciation of music... not just classic rock!

Peter Frampton never disappoints live in concert. I remember the first time I saw him live at the Texas Jam in 1976 “Frampton Comes Alive” tour. Peter is still a phenomenal guitar player despite his health challenges and his vocals are still good. I thought he was done playing live. I admire him for not quitting. This was the first time I’ve been to a concert in ACL Live and I was impressed with the sound quality and the way the venue was setup. As for the band all of them were second to none. Peter I say “Die First Then Quit”

I have been to over 50 concerts since getting clean and sober, over 13 years. Out of all of them, Peter Frampton was absolutely the BEST concert I have been to in recovery. He and his supporting band were phenomenal. Peter may use a cane and sit the whole time but he is STILL a guitar God and played almost 3 hours straight! Some of the bands that have been around for over 50 years should hang it up. Not Peter! Not at all! If you get a chance to see him, DO NOT HESITATE!! GO!!

Oh my gosh, it was amazing. The JBLZE as the opener was phenomenal— and then the man, the legend! I know he has health issues that will soon rob us of his greatness, but last night he played with such vim and vigor that I now GOT why the older kids in my 70s neighborhood loved Frampton Comes Alive. And I am kicking my butt for not seeing him sooner. My brother saw him years ago and immediately was hooked. I hope he was smiling down and saying “I TOLD YOU!”
