Sons of Arrakis (SOA) is a Montreal-based band formed in June 2019, deeply inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune saga. Their unique sound — a fusion of heavy riffs and sci-fi atmospheres — has been described as Melange Rock and Cinematic Sci-Fi Rock, captivating audiences and critics alike. Their debut album, Volume I (2022), quickly reached #1 on the Doom Chart (June 2022) and secured the #8 spot in the year-end recap. Their much-anticipated second album, Volume II (2024), climbed to #3 on the Doom Chart (July 2024) and entered the Top 10 of the 2024 year-end rankings, further solidifying their place in the heavy rock scene. SOA has toured extensively across Québec, Canada, Mexico, the United States, and Europe. In January 2025, they embarked on their first U.S. run with The Great Scattering – Part II alongside Salem’s Bend, debuting in California and Nevada, and performing at Planet Desert Rock Weekend IV. In July 2025, the band performed at Stoom Fest (London, UK). They returned to Europe in September–October 2025 for a full tour, including performances at Into the Void Fest and Up in Smoke Festival, marking a major milestone in their international expansion. In 2025 and beyond, Sons of Arrakis continue their global journey with Shai-Hulud Odyssey, bringing their cinematic, sci-fi-infused heavy rock to new frontiers.
