About Stryper
Established in southern California in 1983, multi-platinum crossover Christian metal band, Stryper, continues to share their positive message and energetic stage presence with a passionate following throughout the world. Since the band’s inception over 30 years ago, the founding members have stayed true to their deepest convictions, turning from “the ways of the world” and following their hearts instead. “In the past 34 years, we’ve evolved into what we are now,” says vocalist and guitarist Michael Sweet. “This is what we always really wanted to be. I love the progression. The story of Stryper is that of an underdog. We seem to go against the grain with everything we do, and our fans tend to be the same – They’re good hardworking people who believe in love, respect, and not conforming to the ways of the world.” The members of Stryper have proven themselves as metal stalwarts, leaving an indelible mark on the genre with each new release. With such hits as “Calling On You,” “Free,” “Honestly,” and “Always There For You,” Stryper’s album sales now exceed over 10 million worldwide. Add to that one of the most successful Christian rock albums ever, 1986’s multi-platinum To Hell With The Devil, and the unique distinction of being the first band in history to notch two songs in MTV’s Top 10 with “Free” and “Honestly.” The band has managed to leave an enduring impression on pop culture, as well. Singer Michael Sweet spent months trending online when he was identified as the doppelganger of 2016 presidential candidate Ted Cruz, who went on to discuss the comparison on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Several movies have paid homage to Stryper’s cultural significance, too, including Drew Barrymore’s “Whip It” and “Pain & Gain,” starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Since returning from a 12-year hiatus in 2003, Stryper has managed to release new music annually. Their most recent full-length album, Fallen [Frontiers Music SRL], reached #44 on the Billboard Top 200 and #2 on the Top Hard Music Albums chart. The group is now recording their next original album, which is due in April of 2018 and promises to be their most groundbreaking yet. This year will also bring Stryper back on the road, where they’ll have a chance to connect with fans, new and old. The line-up still features three of the original members, including singer songwriter Michael Sweet, his brother and drummer Robert Sweet, and guitarist Oz Fox. Recently, the group welcomed iconic bassist Perry Richardson (formerly of Firehouse), who will be joining them on tour. “We’re excited about the next season of Stryper,” says Sweet. “ We have the best fans in the world and the band is at the top of its game musically and spiritually. We look forward to seeing everyone on the road.”

Had a great time, my wife was in pain and torture because she does not like Stryper and their style of music. At one point, Michael Sweet gave my wife Rebecca Mae Monroe an intense look of concern on his face towards her because she was scowling at him and holding her ears, she said that she would have rather dropped me off at Elevation and gone to Gun Lake Casino and come back for me after the Stryper Concert was over.

El Corazon is one of the few places that fringe Christian artists can still play in Seattle. I appreciate them opening up the house to Stryper and Les Carlson. As far as the concert, we got over a few technical difficulties, but the guys played EXCELLENT! The set was great and included a lot of the old and the new. It was just so good, I did not mind the standing room only.

This theater is very cool. It could use a little maintenance, but there is some seating for us older folk that need to sit down occasionally. There is a bunch of cool restaurants around there and it is not far from Downtown Denver. Stryper was AWESOME and performed like it was 1986 again. They played a set filled with old and new stuff. it was just so good,

I have seen these guys 4 times here in Detroit and they ALWAYS put on a great show with intensity and exacting sound quality. At the end, they came out again for an encore to the deafening roar of the crowd. This was my first time seeing Perry Richardson of FIREHOUSE playing bass instead of Tim Gains, he did not disappoint (and I got his Bass pick too - ha)

Fantastic show!!! Stryper was incredible! First time seeing them live. I have been a longtime fan since 1987. They usually don’t come to upstate NY, I hope this becomes a regular tour stop as I will be there every time! Great venue, I’ll definitely go to more events here. Can’t imagine there is a bad seat in the house. Autograph was awesome too and a nice addition to the show!

This was my first visit to the BMI Event Center. The Event Center has was bigger than it looked from the outside. First time listening to Mike Tramp and enjoyed his music. STRYPER always puts on an AMAZING show. I really enjoyed the whole experience. I will definitely come back to the BMI Event Center for another show in the future.

Stryper was excellent. Better playlist than the fall show. Rise Rooftop just can't get the show doors open on time and are the slowest place I have ever been to getting fans into the show. Certainly courteous otherwise. Venue suffers from acoustic issues. The sound mix is just muddy though Stryper was better than the openers. I certainly enjoy Rosy being a good young local act.

3rd time in 32 years seeing Stryper. They never disappoint. Such great talent. Excellent show. I was so impressed with their instrumentals on the cover songs, but like the rest we came for Stryper’s. It may have been Michaels weakest vocals but he is still outstanding. At 50%, he is better than 90% of the rest. Oz stole the show at times.

Amazing concert. Being it's the History Tour, they covered several other bands' Songs. Crazy Train,Shout it out loud, Panama,Heading out to the highway. And as a nod to Perry's former band they did All she wrote, by Firehouse. Shirts and merchandise are very reasonably priced compared to most other concerts I've attended where its all way overpriced! The show was a packed house and I had a fantastic time.

Stryper was absolutely awesome, as usual. I'm looking forward to an Orlando date. The acoustic opening act, though, left a lot to be desired. I have nothing against acoustic sets, but that one was terrible. STRYPER, in my opinion, doesn't need an opening act. They're top-notch and can hold their own in any venue that they play in. STRYPER FOREVER ! YAHWEH 777
