Sleaford Mods have spent over a decade turning the frustrations, absurdities and barely contained rage of modern life into one of the most distinctive sounds in music. Formed in Nottingham, the duo of Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn have built a body of work that cuts through the noise with brutal honesty, sharp humour and stripped-back electronic minimalism. Williamson’s razor-edged observations take aim at politics, pop culture, class and the everyday indignities of modern life, while Fearn’s deceptively spare beats provide the uncompromising backdrop. Across a run of acclaimed records, including Divide and Exit, Key Markets, English Tapas, Eton Alive, Spare Ribs, UK GRIM and 2026’s The Demise Of Planet X, Sleaford Mods have evolved from an underground phenomenon into one of Britain’s most vital and singular acts. Their live shows are where the full force of the band comes into focus: urgent, confrontational, darkly funny and impossible to ignore. Williamson commands the stage with a performance that veers between fury, wit and vulnerability, while Fearn’s skeletal rhythms create an atmosphere that is at once intense, unpredictable and euphoric. Unfiltered and entirely their own, Sleaford Mods remain a necessary voice in British music.
