About Sean Chambers
SEAN CHAMBERS – BIO - 2023/24 "Guitarist Chambers achieves the distinctly American blues/soul/country/rock sound that the Stones used to aspire to long ago." - Jerry Shriver, USA TODAY -Florida born Sean Chambers began his career in the Blues back in 1998 when he toured with the legendary Hubert Sumlin as his guitarist and band leader until 2003. During Sean’s tenure with Mr. Sumlin, Britain's own Guitarist magazine named Chambers as “One of the top 50 blues guitarists of the last century.” -In 2009, Chambers went into the studio to record his critically-acclaimed album, Ten Til Midnight. When Ten Til Midnight was released in October, 2009, it garnered rave reviews and also appeared on the Living Blues chart for the first three months after its release. It received steady airplay in 45 states around the U.S, as well as many markets overseas. The title cut was featured on “The House of Blues Radio Hour” as a “Blues Breaker;” and the album also generated significant airplay on Sirius/XM Radio’s blues channel as a “Pick to Click.” -Sean Chambers released Live from the Long Island Blues Warehouse in 2011, which featured 10 tracks of mostly originals, along with Sean’s distinctively searing takes on “Full Moon on Main Street,” a highlight song from an early album by The Kinsey Report; as well as a blistering version of Elmore James’ “Dust My Broom,” which recalls Johnny Winter in its approach. Live from the Long Island Blues Warehouse appeared on BB King’s Bluesville XM/Sirius Blues Charts as a “Pick to Click” for 6 weeks in a row, as well as 15 weeks on the RMR Weekly Blues Roots Chart and 11 weeks on the House of Blues Radio Chart. The album was voted “Best Live Blues Album of 2011” by Canada’s Blues Underground Network and ranked as one of the Top 3 Live CD’s in Germany by the magazine Wasser Prawda. In addition it was nominated for a Jimi Award for “Best Live Blues Album of 2011.” Guitar Player Magazine did a full page feature story on Sean in February, 2012, and the same month Vintage Guitar Magazine ran a two page feature story. -On October 15, 2013, Sean Chambers released The Rock House Sessions, on Blue Heat Records. The album received great reviews and was also nominated for a Blues Blast Music Award in 2014 for “Best Blues Rock Album of the year”. The album was recorded at Rock House Studios owned by acclaimed keyboardist -Kevin McKendree (Delbert McClinton Band) – hence the album name -On March 17th 2017 Sean Chambers released his 6th album entitled “Trouble & Whiskey” on the American Showplace Music label. Trouble & Whiskey hit #11 on The Billboard Blues Charts, reached #7 on the Living Blues Charts during the first week of it's release, and was nominated for a Blues Blast Music Award for "Best Blues Rock Album of the year". -On October 19th 2018, Sean Chambers released his 7th album “Welcome To My Blues” on the American Showplace Music label, reaching #9 on the Billboard Blues charts in the first week, and was also nominated for a Blues Blast Music Award for "Best Blues Rock Album of the year". Both albums were produced by Ben Elliott who has recorded classic artists such as Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Billy Gibbons, and Steve Miller among others. -On March 1st, 2020, Chambers went into the studio and recorded his 8th album entitled "That's What I'm Talkin About" which is a tribute to his mentor, the late great Hubert Sumlin. Chambers' latest album "That's What I'm Talkin About" was released on July 9th, 2021 on the Quarto Valley Record label. The album reached the Top Ten on the Billboard Blues Charts and received great accolades and rave reviews around the globe. ~The great Paul Rodgers (Bad Company) had this to say, “It is great to see an unsung guitar legend the caliber of Hubert Sumlin, who played with Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, being celebrated by a young artist Sean Chambers. Hubert was bending strings before anyone! - Paul Rodgers, Personal Quote (Jul 09, 2021) “Not just the blues rock album of the year , or indeed the decade. Sean Chambers has produced the blues rock album of the CENTURY!! "THAT’S WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT"” - Gerry Casey, Making A Scene (July 26, 2021) In 2023, shortly after the unfortunate passing of Savoy Brown's founder & leader, "Kim Simmonds", Chambers teamed up with the Savoy Brown rhythm section consisting of Pat De Salvo on Bass, and Garnet Grimm on drums. Chambers and the members from Savoy Brown all became friends after playing a festival together in 2019. Being that Savoy Brown and Sean Chambers are on the same record label together, Quarto Valley Records, this change made sense and felt right to all three musicians. Kim Simmonds was in full support as well and gave the three his blessings shortly before his passing on December 13th, 2022. MEET THE BAND: ~ Pat De Salvo began recording with Kim Simmonds in 2001 on his solo records "Blues Like Midnight" and his follow-up solo album "Struck by Lighting", playing acoustic bass on both. He also worked with Kim Simmonds on two CD's with Jimmy Cavallo "House Rocker" which was nominated for a W.C. Handy award, and the follow up "You Better Believe It". Pat began touring and recording with Kim full time in 2009 playing on" Voodoo Moon", "Songs from the Road" recorded in Germany , "Going to the Delta", "The Devil to Pay", and "Witchy Feelin" which hit number 1 on Billboard under the Ruf label. Pat also played and mixed two live records "Still Live After 50 Years" Volume 1 and 2. "City Nights", "Ain't Done Yet" and "Blues With a Feeling", as well as a DVD Live From Daryl's House. In the 1990's Pat began the record label "Poverty Records" releasing four records including two "Harmonica Blow -Off "records. Pat also recorded over 20 records regionally in Central New York. ~ Garnet Grimm hails from Syracuse NY. Garnet has been a professional drummer for over 4 decades. After High School he served in the United States Army. Afterwards, he spent 2 years studying music at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse NY. He graduated with an Associates in Applied Science in music, and with a longing sense to perform, Garnet began spending a lot of time in the 1990's playing and touring with regional bands, working extensively the eastern seaboard and into the Canadian provinces. In 1999 Garnet was introduced to Kim Simmonds who was residing in the Central New York area. Together, with bassist Pat De salvo he worked on Kim's solo recording , " Blues Like Midnight". Later playing dates together with Kim Simmonds as an acoustic/electric trio. In 2009 Simmonds invited Garnet Grimm along with Pat De Salvo to Join Savoy Brown. The trio spent 14 years playing, recording and touring together until Kim's passing in December 2022. Sean Chambers, along with Pat De Salvo & Garnet Grimm will continue to tour together throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. Chambers currently resides in Southwest Florida with his wife, Karen, who handles the bands merch sales while on tour. www.seanchambers.com Sean is proudly endorsed by: GHS Strings, Eminence Speakers, DiMarzio, Celestial Effects. -Discography: Strong Temptation / Vestige Records Humble Spirits / Rockview Records Ten Til Midnight / Blue Heat Records Live from the Long Island Warehouse / Blue Heat Records The Rock House Sessions / Blue Heat Records Trouble & Whiskey / Quarto Valley Records Welcome To My Blues / Quarto Valley Records That's What I'm Talkin About / Quarto Valley Records Guest appearance on About Them Shoes / Hubert Sumlin / Tone Cool Records TOURING BAND: Sean Chambers - Guitar/Vocals Pat De Salvo - Bass/Vocals Garnet Grimm - Drums/Vocals
