About The Swell Season
Glen Hansard (frontman of The Frames) and Czech singer and pianist Markéta Irglová released their first album, The Swell Season, in Ireland in April 2006.
Starting in fall of 2007, the duo began touring under the name The Swell Season; The current Swell Season line-up also includes three members of The Frames: guitarist Rob Bochnik, violinist Colm Mac Con Iomaire, and bassist Joe Doyle. Graham Hopkins joined the tour on drums in spring of 2008.
Hansard and Markéta starred in the film 'Once' by writer/director John Carney (a former bass player of The Frames). Many songs of The Swell Season are used in this film, which won the World Cinema Audience Award at Sundance 2007 and an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Falling Slowly."

Great to Glen, Marketa and the band. Love their music. The only reason why it isn’t 5 starts is the venue. We’re had restricted view seating which I want made of at the time of booking.

5th time seeing him and this was his best. Love their new album and the venue was over the top at Wolf Trap and very easy to get in and out as well. Cant wait to see Glenn again!
