Melancholy has always been at the heart of Shores Of Null. Since forming in Rome in 2013, the band has forged a sound rooted in gothic doom, where blackened aggression and melodic death metal coexist naturally with soaring melodies, rich harmonies and immersive atmospheres. The result is what they call Melancholic Dark Metal. Since their inception, Shores Of Null have brought that vision to stages across Europe and beyond, performing more than 350 shows while touring alongside bands such as Paradise Lost, Swallow The Sun, Draconian, Saturnus and Harakiri For The Sky, and appearing at major festivals including Hellfest, Inferno Festival, MetalDays, Rock Imperium and 70000 Tons Of Metal. The 2014 debut Quiescence established the band as one of the most compelling names in the European metal underground. Three years later, Black Drapes For Tomorrow expanded its musical vocabulary with darker textures and greater compositional depth. In 2020, Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying) pushed that artistic vision even further: a 38-minute single-track doom metal opus exploring the five stages of grief, featuring guest appearances by Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun) and Thomas A.G. Jensen (Saturnus). The Loss Of Beauty followed in 2023, refining the band's songwriting while bringing its melodic identity into sharper focus. Widely praised by critics and fans alike, the album further strengthened the band's growing international profile. Building on that momentum, 2025 saw the release of the live album Beauty Over Europe, followed by the split Latitudes Of Sorrow with Finnish death/doom outfit Convocation. On October 16th, 2026, Shores Of Null return with Homesick, their fifth studio album and first release through Dusktone. Featuring guest appearances by Natalie Koskinen (Shape Of Despair) and Shaun MacGowan (My Dying Bride), the album explores memory, belonging and the invisible ties that bind us to places. Moving naturally between crushing heaviness and fragile introspection, Homesick expands the band's emotional palette while remaining unmistakably true to the identity they have forged over more than a decade. A reminder that home can be both a sanctuary and a curse. .
