I feel this is Shakey 2.0. I've been follow him since his humble Austin roots and this show with his new "Wilco-esque" band was bigger and jammier than I have ever seen him. Still the same great banter and smile and solo bits but now with even more energy and a fuller song.
Massey Hall Toronto, ONI thought it was fantastic performance and I love Shakey Graves as an artist event more and evermore! Unfortunately as for the theater (***), not single great place to stand when everyone in a chair blocks the view of the artists and the great but only slightly visible light show. Good sound though.
Knitting Factory Concert House Spokane, WAGreat energy! Last show of this tour and he had enough energy to make for a great show. He changed up the setlist which is appreciated. This is my 4th Shakey show and I look forward to seeing him again. Rayland Baxter was a GREAT opener! Very impressed.
