About Gregory Alan Isakov
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and now calling Colorado home, horticulturist/musician Gregory Alan Isakov has cast an impressive presence on the indie-rock and folk worlds with his six full-length studio albums: That Sea, The Gambler; This Empty Northern Hemisphere; The Weatherman; Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony; Evening Machines (nominated for a Grammy award for Best Folk Album), and Appaloosa Bones. Isakov tours internationally with his band, and has performed with several national symphony orchestras across the United States. Isakov’s new record, Appaloosa Bones, was released via Dualtone/Suitcase Town Music. Of the album, MOJO states, "“Prime Isakov: his velvet baritone glides over elegant and shimmering Wild West mirages.” The Associated Press proclaims, "He has that magical ability to convey both urgency and grandeur at the same time…Simple. Straightforward. Utterly evocative.” And No Depression declares, “this is Isakov’s genius. He turns a short poem into a magnificent piece of music that can captivate for hours." When he is not on the road, he runs Starling Farm (a small farm in Boulder County), which provides produce to CSA members, restaurants, and Community Food Share (a local food bank).

the most moved i have been by a concert in a while. i go to my fair share of shows and when i tell you Gregroy and his band are a MUST see i am not exaggerating. Every song hits you to your core and every note is played exactly how you want it to be. Even from balcony seats I felt close to the band. The opener, Mon Rovia, was fantastic as well. Truly amazing artists up there and I cant wait till I have the opportunity to see them again.

Fabulous as always. Only criticism is the inside of the Mission Ballroom is SO DARK its not safe. I saw 3 people fall over things/other people when they came in from the bright outside lights to a completely BLACK venue. Please bring the lights up some, at least until 10 min before the show starts. Also-I don't like the lighting. Can't see the performers because the stage lighting is SO CONCENTRATED. Tone it down or add some white. Otherwise, Gregory is always a 10/10!

My favourite singer of all time. He was a joy to listen to, as always, but the show was quite short (five songs or so) and it was part of the "before" of the show, which meant that no one was quiet or sitting down. That doesn't suit his music AT ALL, and so the emotions were lost in the hubub. His stage set up was so flawless to who he is as a performer, and they had beautifully choreographed lights with their songs.

Such a beautiful human being; someone whose music has often carried me through the darker valleys of recent years. When he begins the show with my favorite song and plays through most of my other favorites, it was quite clear my cheeks would hurt a bit at end of show from all the smiling. The arrangements were stunning and I do hope it was recorded. Long may you sing for us, Gregory, as my ears shall never tire of it.

Genuinely the most beautiful show I’ve ever seen. The stage presence was incredible, the entire band is talented beyond belief and I absolutely adored the way the night was broken up into the two sets; one with the band spread out across the stage and the other with them all gathered around one mic. The vocals were perfect, and the harmonies gave me chills. I will definitely be seeing him again!

What an amazing show…the band was so tight, the harmonies that they arranged were like a a cozy blanket being tossed on the crowd, breathtaking. Pitch perfect vocals, and a lyric fumble or two to let you know they’re indeed humans. The venue had a huge presence, like the bass player that thumped perfectly on beat. So good.

Gregory Alan Isakov and his band were AWESOME! I was really upset with the folks trickling into the venue, though. Instead of coming in quietly with reverence to the music, folks were audible from the far side of the arena. Please come back to STL Mr Isakov!! Your music is so rich and beautiful! Thank you for 10/30/24!!

Most artists are better in their recordings, not these guys! I've seen Greg and his band live every time they've come to New England for the past ten years, and in that time they've become an INCREDIBLE act. My favorite thing is their interludes between their songs, especially when their violinist is featured.

Amazing!!!!! He is an incredible performer. Having the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra was a bonus. They are incredible and I cannot express how wonderful he and his band mates are. He has such a unique voice with an incredible range and sound. I could listen to him all day. It was a phenomenal experience.

Wow. This show was amazing. Mr. Isakov is a fantastic song writer. The music is great, the venue is as close to perfect as can be, and the weather matched the music to create an atmosphere that was absolutely magical. I'm am so happy to have been apart of this experience 😃
