Combining stellar musicianship, insightful songwriting and shimmering harmonies into an intoxicating blend, there’s no sound quite like The Woods. Drawing comparisons to the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, The Woods built a devoted following opening for Tim McGraw, The Cadillac Three, Clint Black and others. Trio members Dan O’Rourke, Raquel Cole and Leland Rooney channel their individual strengths and influences into a unique sound that pays homage to their favorite 70s folk rock legends while also incorporating the ear grabbing hooks that make modern country such a dominant force on today’s musical landscape. Following their groundbreaking debut EP Nowhere is Somewhere, they return with their sophomore effort Lose It, a bold set that spotlights their unerring song sense and stunning harmonies. Cole is a native of British Columbia, Canada who has earned acclaim for her earnest, evocative vocals. O’Rourke was born in New Jersey but has really called the road his home as he’s spent time all over including taking up residence in California and Arizona before making his way to Nashville. Rooney is a Dallas, Texas native, who honed his talents on the competitive Lone Star music circuit before moving to Nashville. Each member brings a specific skill set and musical history to their work together as The Woods, and those gifts have made them country’s most exciting new band. There’s something about being in the woods that stimulates the senses, fostering a feeling of peace and comfort yet also spurring a sense of adventure. Listening to the pristine harmonies and driving country rock of The Woods provokes that same sense of wonder and awe. The talented trio are carving a unique path buoyed by skilled musicianship, carefully crafted songwriting and a stunning, shimmering vocal blend that has quickly made them one of the most highly respected new acts in country music.
