Elandre het op 19 die klein-kusdorp van Despatch verlaat vir teaterskool in Kaapstad. Dit was slegs ’n paar jaar na sy ontmoeting met Kaapstad wat sy fyn waarneming en lewenslange liefde vir die verhoog, goed te hande sou kom. In 2016, het sy weghardloop-video weergawe van Bruce Springsteen se; Tougher Than The Rest, vir hom sy eerste platekontrak in die sak gebring. Sy skrywersvernuf was luid ten toon gestel met sy debuutalbum, Kleindorp-Dromer: wat goue status oorskry het binne slegs drie maande. Dit was triomfantlik opgevolg met die multiplatinum dansgedrewe album, Boomhuis. ’n Kinderlike obsessie met die visuele kunste het lewe gevind in ’n jarelange samewerking met video vervaardiger, Christian Wolf. Oor vier albums het hulle al menige video treffers saam geskep: Vuur op Die Water, Tussen Die Lakens, en Woorde uit Jou Mond; tot die Europop album Rugsak se: Waar Die Wind My Waai, en Binne & Buite. En mees onlangs: Asseblief. Afgeronde veelsydigheid gekombineer met ’n eerlike kustelike kalmte. Estetika is ’n volwaardelike terugkeer vir Elandré, met twee van sy enkelsnitte: Lieflik en Hand aan Hand, wat alreeds goue status bekleë. Dié versameling is ’n romantiese terugrit na 2000’s motorhuis-Ruk-en-Rol en MK-Mania. Na slegs ’n paar jaar het hy tussen ateljee en verhoog getroue ondersteuning onder Afrikaanse luisteraars vergader met sy kenmerkende stem en vars uinieke pop persperktief. Sy katalogus vertoon Afrikaanse musiek gekleë in ’n reeks nuwe uitrustings; nostalgies vooruitstrewend met elke nuwe snit.
