About Indigo Girls
The Indigo Girls are Amy Ray and Emily Saliers. They met on the playground in grammar school in Decatur, Georgia, and have been playing together since high school. They were signed to Epic Records in 1989 and won the grammy for best contemporary folk album later that year (for their self titled release) Some of their hit songs include "Galileo," "Closer to Fine," and "Shame on You." Aside from being musicians, Ray and Saliers are activists, constantly supporting causes like gun control, women's rights, Native American rights, environmental protection, lesbian/gay/trans rights, and abortion rights. They constantly devote their time and money to such causes, often playing benefit concerts. Ray and Saliers both have side projects. Ray owns and founded Daemon Records, an independent label based in Decatur. She also has a career as a solo artist, and has released two albums thus far. Saliers is the part owner of Watershed, a restaurant and wine bar in Decatur. Together, the Indigo Girls are constantly touring. Their new album, Despite Our Differences, was released 19 September 2006.

Venue is terrific; can see from everywhere; Soundsystem is excellent; staff is the very best Concert is what you expect from the Indigo Girls – absolutely the best as it has been for the 20+ years I have been going. Band is wonderful and adds such depth. Surprise guest Brandi Carlile was an added treat. To listen to them and how they have matured since Brandi first Toured with them, all those years ago. Best time ever! Please come back!

This venue is awesome!! So intimate and just great. I absolutely love the Indigo Girls and will continue to see them again and again. This wasn't my favorite set they have played, but regardless the energy and show was amazing and I will always support them. They are the best and I will return to the Charleston Music Hall as often as I can. Great all around

Beautiful music. Great venue. They totally owned the crowd and treated us like old friends. I was initially annoyed that I paid so much per ticket and couldn't even find anywhere to stand let alone sit for the opening act but thankfully someone made an announcement before the Indigo Girls came on asking people to move closer together so we could get in.

Excellent show as always! Loved the performance of Land of Canaan, couldn’t stay in my seat. Lucy Wainwright was great- love her voice and sense of humor. Lively crowd as always at this classic outdoor venue. A special show since my daughter went with me. A shout out to my good friend PS for giving me the tickets for my birthday.

LOVE the Indigo Girls! This was an absolutely SUBLIME show, with guest Lyris Hung on the violin... an awesome evening of crowd favorites mixed in with material from their new album ("Look Long") and some really surprising deep cuts! Worth every single penny for good seats to hear one of the best singer-songwriter duos in American music history!!!

The Indigo Girls never disappoint the crowd. Good mix of old and new and played several songs they do not play at every concert.(which is a plus for me having seen them over 50 times). Only gave 4 stars because the Daily Herald said they’d have the full band but only had the extra violin (who is fabulous!).

They were as fabulous and fantastic as ever. Lyrus Hung was an unexpected and appreciated surprise. She did things with her violin that I have never heard before. Lucy Wainwright Roche was delightful. Her performance was worthy of her own show and she was so funny that she should consider stand up. I love the Indigo Girls.

The Indigo Girls are as amazing as when I saw them 20 years ago. The Peace Center is wonderful. I only wish that the overall sound is better. I saw Wicked from the founders circle and many parts were too quiet. I was in the orchestra part for Indigo Girls and the sound was a bit better.

Such powerful voices and wonderful songs. Seeing them in a small venue like the Parker Playhouse always gives me that nostalgic feeling of sitting around a campfire and singing your favorite songs with some of your closest friends. There is nothing like seeing Amy & Emily playing their guitars and singing with all they have.

Great show - mix of new & old songs & an audience ready & willing to sing along when invited. Yasmin Williams was a superb support act - fabulous guitar playing. Our 1st time at the Tramshed - good venue - not too large. Drinks not cheap but didn't take long to be served.
