About Ray LaMontagne
Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne returns to the stage on his Just Passing Through acoustic tour, highlighting songs from his vast and varying body of work. LaMontagne will be playing songs spanning across his albums including Trouble, Till The Sun Turns Black, Gossip in the Grain, God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise, Supernova, Ouroboros, and Part Of The Light. On his previous solo tours, critics across the US were raving about his performance. Consequence of Sound said, “Hearing Ray LaMontagne perform live is a poignant and magical experience,” while The Boston Herald raved, “LaMontagne's voice remains a marvel, quiet and reflective one minute and forceful and impassioned the next. It really is an amazing instrument.” Ray LaMontagne has released 7 studio albums, 5 of which have reached Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and Billboard’s Digital Albums chart. Additionally, Ray’s 2010 album God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise won the Grammy for Best Folk Album and was nominated in the coveted Song of The Year category for “Beg Steal or Borrow.” Each release from his catalogue over the last 13 years carries its own character and feel. Having worked with producers Ethan Johns, Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ray’s vast sonic catalogue has been called everything from “a perfect throwback to the lost art of the album-length format,” from Entertainment Weekly to “epic and magical,” from Rolling Stone and “gorgeous and ambitious,” from Esquire. NPR’s All Things Considered said that Ray throughout the course of his career “has continued to push himself in different directions,” while People called Ray a “marvel of nature.”

First time at the venue and absolutely LOVE IT! Neko Case was such a treat. I definitely enjoyed her set. Ray was hands down an amazing live performer. Can’t even be made that he didn’t play any of his really old hits. He’s just that good. 12 yrs was worth the wait!

Outstanding performance. The only issue I had was the constant hooting and hollering inappropriate comments from the audience during the songs. I have no problem with enthusiastic responses between songs as it was certainly deserved, but the "commentary" during these beautiful songs was distracting and disrespectful to the artist.

I just love Ray! Fantastic show as always! His music, vibe and presence just resonate my soul. I cannot wait to see him again someday. As so many in the crowd chanted that evening, from their heart of hearts, I must say it again.... "WE LOVE YOU RAY!.....THANK YOU RAY!"

Far and away, one of the finest nights of musical artistry I have ever experienced. Kacy and Clayton were wonderful, Carl Broehmel was amazing with Ray, and the music was transcendent. I can't wait for my next opportunity to see this amazing artist play his craft live.

I like rays new stuff, that being said I think alot of the audience wanted to hear older stuff. Since his playstyle has switched to almost psycadelic rock, I feel like ray needs to change his bands name to prevent this misconception audience goers may have.

One of the best performances of the 12 Ray LaMontagne shows I've seen. His new, one-man-band album, Monovision, is second to none, and was performed in it's entirety. The venue Strathmore is second to none, having the finest acoustics of any venue in America.

Musicianship, vocals sound were stellar. Song choice and entertainment was dreadful. The audience was pretty rude, talked over the music a lot. That may have been because Ray indulged himself instead of his fans. Love his studio work, will not see him live again.

Definitely catered more to the romantically inclined audience. Also, very short show. Ray spans several genres. I was hoping to hear him rock out. Especially with MMJ guitarist there. In spite of it all my wife loved it. 😉 Thanks Ray

Ray was perfect- he sounded truly amazing. Wish we’d sat closer as it wasn’t as loud as I’d hoped. Loved the venue as it’s close to my house and a great size. Hope to see more shows there again.
