Smells Like Nirvana is composed of seasoned pros and die-hard-fans of Nirvana fronted by Paul Wandtke (ex Trivium, Dead Original), drummer Benny “Boomba” Piazza and Mike Petrasek (Bedlem).
Their live tribute to Nirvana is a haunting episode of grunge filled angst playing songs from Nirvana's albums Bleach, Nevermind, In Utero and MTV Unplugged as well as rare b-sides and more; played without click tracks or backing tracks, a trait that is rare in today’s contemporary musical landscape, a trait and philosophy that Nirvana lived by.

really solid show overall, they sounded great. my only issue is the way they performed polly… they were like celebrating it and having everyone clap along…like, do they even know what that song is about? i get that its a concert and is supposed to be hype but that just didnt sit well with me.

Awesome, I didn’t realize Smells Like Nirvana and Dead Original were the same guys but they both kicked ass. Seven Foot Monkey was pretty cool too. My wife, son and I all had a great time and will definitely see these guys the next time they come to town.

My wife and a I enjoyed both the original music of Dead Original and the Nirvana covers by Smells like Nirvana. We can no longer see Nirvana unfortunately so this was the next closest thing!
