About Yancy

Yancy is a worship leader, songwriter and producer of hundreds of songs that make Jesus loud. She has traveled the globe performing family concerts and leading worship. Her Dove Award winning music is all the things kids love and everything adults value. As a songwriter, she’s written a number one song, “I Don’t Want to Go,” recorded by Avalon. She loves the local church and is a powerhouse at leading and teaching kids to worship. Continually a popular worship resource in churches and homes around the world, the “Little Praise Party” series is focused on inviting young hearts to a relationship with Jesus by beginning a foundation of theology through the discipline of worship. Yancy writes these songs and crafts these arrangements with an intentional focus on this phase of life. “Little Praise Party” features animated music videos designed specifically for preschoolers and younger elementary children. Families love to watch these on Minno, RightNow Media, Yippee, Smile of a Child, YouTube, and more. Favorite songs include: “Hosanna Rock,” “Praise the Lord Every Day” and “Stop & Go.” The series “Kidmin Worship" is the ultimate church worship resource of lyric videos, motion tutorials, and more for preteen and elementary kids. It includes age-specific arrangements of hymns and popular worship songs, as well as original songs such as “Super Wonderful,” “Strength & Shield,” and “Live Differently.” Developed from a passion to teach kids the heart of worship, she created “Heartbeat,” a five-lesson curriculum that highlights David’s example and heart of worship. These lessons have been a game-changer for churches across the country. Yancy is a passionate advocate of raising disciples to worship. She has authority in this area because of her faithful commitment to the promise in scripture that the worship of children is power-filled. She authored “Sweet Sound: The Power of Discipling Kids in Worship” to help you create a rhythm of worship in your church. Its message is the cry of her heart and ministry. With a family legacy of children’s ministry, she’s the daughter of children’s ministry pioneer, Jim Wideman. Her unique PK perspective helps encourage and champion the Kidmin community that the seeds they are planting will reap a harvest that will go on to affect families for generations. She hosts the "Stained Glass Kids" podcast, bringing light to the darkest parts of our stories as PK's and ministry kids. Yancy lives in Nashville, TN with her husband, Cory, and sons, Sparrow and Rhythm.
