Few bands have altered the vocabulary of heavy music as fundamentally as MESHUGGAH. For nearly four decades, the Swedish quintet have built one of the most distinctive bodies of work in modern metal, combining rhythmic complexity, dissonance, repetition and crushing physicality into a sound that has influenced generations of musicians. Formed in Umeå in 1987, MESHUGGAH began with thrash-metal foundations before rapidly pushing into far stranger territory. Albums including Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere and Nothing established the ideas that would come to define them: polymetric riffs, displaced accents, extended-range guitars and an ability to make extreme technical complexity feel overwhelmingly visceral. That evolution continued through the sprawling Catch Thirtythree, the precision and aggression of obZen, the immense weight of Koloss and the volatile immediacy of The Violent Sleep of Reason. Songs such as “Future Breed Machine,” “Rational Gaze,” “Bleed” and “Demiurge” became landmarks in the band’s catalogue, while their approach to rhythm helped shape entire generations of progressive and technical metal. A testament to their lasting impact, MESHUGGAH received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance for “Clockworks.” In 2022, MESHUGGAH returned with their ninth studio album, Immutable, a record that expanded their established language rather than abandoning it. The subsequent touring cycle reinforced another central part of their legacy: a live show where immense sound and precisely synchronized lighting turn complex compositions into an almost physical sensory experience. In 2026, MESHUGGAH have revisited two defining chapters of their catalogue with newly remastered anniversary editions of Destroy Erase Improve and Catch Thirtythree. Decades after their original release, both records remain confrontational, alien and unmistakably current. Nearly four decades into their career, MESHUGGAH remain one of the rare bands whose influence is matched by their continued relevance. They have never simply stayed ahead of their time. They have created a musical language that much of heavy music is still learning to speak. In a year marked by anniversaries and reflection, there is value in looking back. But MESHUGGAH have never spent very long facing in that direction. There is more to come.

Carcass was great, but short set and wish they could have played more. Cannibal Corpse is the gold standard of Death Metal and absolutely phenomenal live. And then there is Meshuggah. Words can't describe what it is like to behold these titans of Metal. They are truly awe-inspiring and in a league of their own. Their sound is crushing, their lighting/production is second to none. Truly unlike any else. They must be experienced live. The Pageant is an absolutely top tier venue for it's size. Acoustics are incredible and not a bad view in the entire place.
The Pageant St Louis, MOMeshuggah as usual were great. Sound at history is great. Very clean place. Staff are very friendly. Not my favorite place for a show.stage is to low to see unless u are jammed in lower floor jnfront of stage(mosh pit area) or payed a crazy amount of money for a seat upstairs. Viewing isn't great anywhere else. Just tops of heads. It is designed more a dance club than concert hall. . Upstairs sound is OK at best upstairs They have large tv's everywhere. Never showing the show for people who can't see. Only comercials
HISTORY Toronto, ON4/11: Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah Overall Experience: A+ Best Set: Meshuggah Least Fav Set: Carcass Most Disappointing: N/A Highlight moment: "Rational Gaze" madness Best Factor: High Energy Crowd Easily best show of the weekend! Great sound and incredible energy throughout the show, especially during songs like "Hammer Smashed Face" and "Rational Gaze". Wasn't the biggest meshuggah fan going in, but after I gained a whole new respect for the band. For those even remotely into metal music, you HAVE to see meshuggah live. It was a religious experience. And Carcass and CC were excellent as well. Badass show!
The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Las Vegas, NVgreat band great vibe my issue is even but getting the side seating upper level you can not see below to the stage. You have 3 more rows when bar stle tables that once every one stands up to watch you will not see anything. my seats where upper level by brick wall and the only chance to watch is with the TVS on the wall. the seating should be going down pitched to give a view. Wont spend that money thinking 3rd row would be great views.
The Paramount Huntington, NYI drove from several states away to see Meshuggah and it was well worth the drive. Although I have been listening for years, since I was a teenager, this was my first time seeing them in concert. It was even better than I thought it would be. I will be tracking for the next North American tour, as my kids want to go with me next time. The Fillmore Auditorium was a pretty good venue, but there was standing room only, even where seating was purchased.
